Marriage is love - if one is desperately in love, if one cherishes love, if one wants to be with another person so badly that one would do anything ...
... one should be allowed to marry. No matter their races, genders, backgrounds, religions ....
Love does not discriminate. Neither should we.
It's about time for some people to fight for what is right - not what they necessarily personally believe.
I'm straight. White. Middle-class. But I could not imagine living if the world told me I could not be with the one I love. Why should I, and so many fortunate souls like me, get to benefit when so many other people have to suffer? Gay marriage is so important to me that I actually registered to vote for it, I rallied for it, I joined groups for it, I wrote essays for it ... and for what? Nothing. I'm lost in a sea of hate. And I'm frustrated that my voice means nothing. I feel like everything I've done has been in vain. I feel like I can change nothing.
Are we winning?
I don't know.
