Adaptation is a strong characteristic of the human race. Given time, we can eventually become used to anything. I'm glad at least some part of the process isn't difficult, though.
...there seems to be a rising number of vampires this month. This worries me.

Right. I know what you mean. But it's still a little disgusting... Everything just seems forgotten. Throw in few furry creatures and it's all good again.
We'll talk about that, when we're searching your clothes together, later tonight perhaps.

...not forgotten, but not lingered over, either. When people are so intently focused on surviving the moment, it's rather hard to dwell on them. Not everyone is made of the same stern stuff that you are, Ran. There are people here that have never been involved in any form of combat situation. Despite the misery, people have to try to cling to some aspect of normalcy, or the result is madness.
I'm just ... glad it wasn't another malevolent experiment.

Don't lecture me. I'm just saying it's somewhat disgusting to accept being experimented on and killed again and again as 'normalcy'. There hasn't been such a thing for a long time for me. But even I can tell that this is not it.

[This would be Aya, sneaking back in after his talk with Itachi. He'll be deadly silent, until he's behind Caesar and wrapping arms around him.] How eagerly exactly? [It's purred beside his ear silently.]
[we seriously can't get away from it whut]nowarstowinApril 15 2008, 15:33:30 UTC
[And this would be the ensuing squeak of terror from Caesar, followed by a lot of useless writhing. Oh, wait; it's Aya! Despite needing a moment to make sure his heart isn't going to leap out of his chest, he settles down against the taller man.]
Well, now that I know the Malnosso haven't come to cart me off, I'm a bit, um ... hi, you.
[Sure; act like you don't like it.]kudaran314April 15 2008, 15:50:38 UTC
[Here, have a breathy kiss on that earlobe so conveniently there, it may or may not be accompanied by a low chuckle, it might also be something akin to a wordless purr.]
[Ooh, he'll take that, and even tip his head to the side to make continuing such an endeavor that much easier. Oh, and have an earful of quiet, happy noises.]
[Those are just the kind that please Aya to no end, even wrench out a smile from him. And yes, those would be his hands sliding under Caesar's shirt. Fast isn't he?]
I need to tell you something. Even if we agreed to no business tonight. [It's muttered against Caesar's neck, between little damp kisses.]

I look forward to it. Mostly.
Reply
That's fortunate, yes.
You sound almost enthusiastic, mostly.
Reply
I'd be more enthusiastic if I could get to the pleasurable aspects of such an encounter without business rearing it's ugly head yet again.
Reply
...maybe it's better to keep it that way, forget the business.
Reply
I ... I wouldn't mind that. And yet, these things will still need said.

Agreed. Tomorrow.

Hi. I see you've managed to find your clothes.

H-hi there. So I did; the creeping chill of the evening provided great motivation, I assure you.
You could always arrange for them to be lost again, you know.

Don't mind if I do...

I was hoping you'd say something like that.
