Spoilers From TV Guide

John Lithgow has signed on to play Dexter's new serial killer.

The Emmy-winning actor will play Walter Simmons, aka the "Trinity Killer," so named because he murders in threes. Simmons is a mild-mannered suburbanite who shows up in Miami, on the run from FBI Special Agent Frank Lundy. (Keith Carradine returns as Lundy after a season-long absence.) Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) becomes infatuated with the Trinity Killer's methods, and his ability to evade capture for more than 30 years.
Lithgow will appear in all 12 episodes of Season 4, which premieres Sunday, Sept. 27.

Brian Austin Green has been cast on Smallville as the DC Comics villain Metallo, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.
That's right - the Terminator alum is now playing a cyborg himself. That is a pretty freakin' super bit of casting, right?
Green will appear as the kryptonite-powered villain (alter ego "Daily Planet" journo John Corben) in at least the first two
episodes of Season 9, which takes flight Friday, Sept. 25.

Interestingly, Smallville fans were waiting for news on big, bad Zod, given the events of the Season 8 finale, but that role
still has yet to be cast. (I suppose you could say the show "zigged" instead of Zod.)

Green's Smallville gig comes on the heels of the Beverly Hills 90210 alum passing on the role of One Tree Hill sports agent Clayton.
(And isn't this role so, so much cooler?!) Prior to that, Green had been attached to the CW pilot Body Politic, but that series
didn't get picked up for fall.

This past TV season, Green costarred on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, which was canceled after two seasons.

Sunday's True Blood premiere answered at least one burning question: Is Lafayette alive? Answer: Yes! Nobody is more
surprised by this turn of events than Nelsan Ellis, the actor who plays Lafayette.

As a fan of the Sookie Stackhouse novel series, on which Alan Ball based the vampire drama for HBO, Ellis knew that Lafayette,
Merlotte's wisecracking cook - and part-time pornographer/drug dealer - is totally dunzo after Book 1. When he arrived on set
for the finale episode's table read, he prepared himself for the end. "I thought, this was fun, time to look for the next gig," he says.

But then... what's this? That painted toenail in the car didn't belong to Lafayette after all! "'You know we're not going to kill you, right?'"
Ellis remembers Ball telling him. "And I was like, 'Noooo...'" Ball told the actor that he decided to keep Lafayette in the cast after
shooting a scene between Ellis and Rutina Wesley, who plays Lafayette's cousin, Tara, in the pilot episode. Ellis and Wesley have combustive chemistry for sure, which Ellis attributes to their long friendship. (They attended Juilliard together in the early '00s.)

So now that Lafayette has been spared, what's next for the flamboyant entrepreneur? When we last saw him, he was chained up
in a dungeon watching a fellow prisoner get disemboweled by a very cranky Eric, his vampire captor. Ellis reveals that, this season, Lafayette's fate will be inextricably tied with that of the vampires, but that their relationship won't always be quite as adversarial.
"[Lafayette] stays with the vampires basically throughout the season," he says. "I guess how deep down the rabbit hole he goes
with Eric is the biggest teaser I can give."

"Eric makes people beholden to him," says Ellis. "He did it to Sookie, and now he does force Lafayette to work for him to repay him
for something he's done for him."  Oh jeez, Lafayette isn't going to become a vampire, is he? Not any time soon, says Ellis.
"I have a sneaking suspicion that, in the future, the vampires are going to learn to respect him and not mess with him," he says.
"He's going to find a way to elevate his position with them. Lafayette is a survivor, so he's not going to stay in this scared state
too long." Excellent!

Molly Burnett Rocks True Blood

She raises hell as Melanie on Days of Our Lives (American Soap Opera)  but Molly Burnett is finding Jesus on True Blood.
The 21-year-old actress appears on the HBO hit June 21 as Amanda Jane, lead singer of the all-girl Christian band Amanda Jane
and the God Rockets.  They’ll perform at the Light of Day Institute, the anti-vampire church camp that has attracted superstud Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten). Atlantic Records is so high on Burnett’s big tune from the episode, “Jesus Asked Me Out Today,” that
it’s been added as a bonus track to the season 1 soundtrack True Blood: Music From the HBO Original Series and is now available
through iTunes. We talked to Burnett about her heavenly guest stint.

True Blood couldn’t be hotter-and cooler-so kudos on the gig! Are you a fan?

Before I did the role I didn’t have HBO-which has obviously changed now-so I didn’t know the show. Prior to the audition I went
online to watch an episode. I just selected one at random and it was the one where this crazed naked vampire
[Liam, played by Graham Shiels] is having sex with a woman who’s all tied up, and I was like, “Oh, my God! What kind of show am I auditioning for?” But my best friend, who watches True Blood, said, “It’s OK, Molly. Relax. It’s not all like that.”

So I take it you won’t be having sex with a bloodsucker?

I wish! I so wanted to get killed and grow fangs. But no such luck. Hey, maybe in Season 3!

What’s the scoop on Amanda Jane?

She’s not your stereotypical Christian singer. She’s very sexy in a Britney Spears sort of way. She’d be considered a little
controversial, not very appropriate for Christian music, I guess, but there she is dancing and rockin’ out and singing about
Jesus, so it’s kinda funny. She’s the little do-gooder who passes out Honesty rings.

Like everyone else, is your big fantasy to be a rock star?

Totally. We shot like a million takes of “Jesus Asked Me Out Today” and the other actors had to pretend I was this big
sensation and cheer like crazy. OK, so it wasn’t exactly real but it was like being a rock star for a day. It’s still my big fantasy.

You had to sing the song at your audition?

They gave me the lyrics but not the music they were going to use so I had to make up a tune to go with it, which I guess should have
been a little scary but I had to run to the audition and then quickly get my butt over to shoot Days. I just made up a little ditty and did it.
I’ve never written a song before in my life. I didn’t have time to get nervous. I didn’t have time to even breath much less think about it.
If I’d only known how cool True Blood is, I would have freaked out!
