ABC is going to do a remake of V.

I admit it. I am a sci fi/horror geek.  I loved the mini series called V.  The one season tv show wasn't as good, but still entertaining. So now ABC is going to try a remake of the story. It will either be awesome or a total BS.

ABC has greenlit to a pilot for a remake of V, the 1980s NBC show about reptilian alien "visitors" disguised as humans who invade Earth, Variety reports.

Penned by The 4400 co-creator Scott Peters, the reboot will focus on Erica Evans, a Homeland Security agent whose son latches onto the sinister aliens. As in the original, the aliens claim to have benevolent motives for their visit - but don't.

The franchise's original creator, Kenneth Johnson, is not involved in the adaptation.

V debuted in 1983 as a miniseries and later spawned a one-season series.

The plot begins like this: Aliens arrived on Earth in a fleet of 50 huge, saucer-shaped motherships, which hovered over major key cities. They revealed themselves on the roof of the United Nations building in New York City, and were human in appearance, but required special glasses to protect their eyes; they also had a distinctive low resonance to their voices. Simply referred to as the Visitors, they reached out in friendship, ostensibly seeking the help of humans to obtain chemicals needed to aid their ailing world. In return, the Visitors promised to share their advanced technology with humanity. The governments of Earth accepted the arrangement, and the Visitors, led by their leader John and his deputy Diana, began to gain considerable influence with human authorities. Lets just say the Vistors have an agenda.

Here is a bit of the mini series from youtube.
