Random thoughts
I've worked retail since I was sixteen. I saw Walmart change how retail works. How malls no longer were the thing. How Amazon changed our shopping habits. Now this virus has shifted our spending as well.
Our economy was so fragile, it went down hill very fast. When I was a kid, the local grocery had a guy deliver in his old pickup truck. Now it's all high tech. Major retailers are closing their stores. Montgomery Wards was a huge company when I was a kid. They refused to change with the times and closed. The internet caused the Christmas catalog to die away. Now major retailers are closing their doors. Hertz is closing. That was a shock until I thought about it. People are not going anywhere so renting cars stopped. I worried about climate change, but now am amazed how our economy changed even faster.
