This is what my job is like daily.  Today, I got screamed by two women because they
didn't ask the cashier to give them two tens instead of a twenty in their change.  One
came to guest services and wanted me to break it for them. I explained  we don't open
the register to make change.  It's a rule.  It's to prevent short change artists.  We are not
a bank. We do not sell rolls of change or make change. If you are making a purchase
and you want  the bills broken to smaller units, ask before they close the register.
Otherwise we can't do it.  The first woman walked away and then came back with another
woman to yell at me more. Yelling will not make me break company rules.

If you don't have a receipt, we can look up the sale if you used a credit card, debit card,
or a check.  If you paid with cash, we can't refund you cash if you don't have your receipt.
If you paid cash and don't have your receipt, all I can do is use your driver's license.  It will
give you store credit for the lowest price the merchandise has been in the last 90 days.  There
is a limit of $70 in twelve months. Once you hit that mark, you have to exchange for products
from the same dept.  A book for a book, a bike for a bike, a blanket for a blanket. Not return a
coffeemaker and get food instead. We get that a lot.  It has to be from the same dept and be at
least the same value or more with you paying the difference.  That tends to piss off a lot of
people, but that is what our store manager has set as a rule.  Same dept or no exchange.  I
don't make the rules or have the power to change them. If someone acts like the customer in
the comic here, I call a manager.  They can decide to make an exception, but I can't.  Also we
can only return merchandise purchase in the last 90 days and if it's electronics only 30 days.
If the merchandise isn't in our system anymore, you are out of luck.  Merchandise changes
with the seasons so do the upc codes.  So if the upc isn't working, no refund.  So keep your
receipts or pay with a credit card, debit card or check.  Just words of advice to make your life
easier and my life calmer.
