Star Trek: The Next Generation

I do so love Star Trek.  The original was my first fandom love.
I was fourteen when it came out. I've loved each version of it since.

On April 28th, 2012, The TNG Cast were reunited here in Calgary,
Alberta, Canada on the 25th Anniversary of Star Trek The Next Generation!

Will was so nice at Dragon*Con. I think he was a bit surprised by how he was received there. His table was so busy.

I so understand that. I fell in love with Spock long before I even knew what fandom was. I've loved all the different series of Star Trek. Not so crazy about the reboot movie. It was okay, but not my Star Trek. Sort of like the BTVS comics are fun, but not canon for me.

I love his sense of humor. He does not take himself seriously. The woman who asked him why Science Fiction does not understand him. A guy asked James the same question when we were at James' party in 2010. This guy looked down on Science Fiction and thought the stage was the only real way to go. James tried to explain it. Science Fiction gives you the freedom to point out the horrors that mankind can do without causing a riot. It's all make believe you see. Not serious, but it cuts right to heart of all the damage mankind can do as a warning to us humans.

Look at your Queen being all queeny and stuff. I'm sure he hold the honor as the greatest of all.

Yeah it's odd cos you dont get oft see her actually knighting someone and I think on some level I figured robes and a crown and stuff, but I am pleased to see while still a formal thing to be "elevated" it appears to be done in a rather relaxed manner which is cool. I dont think when it gets to William [May God Forbid] much of the hoo haaing and pomp will be around. The grander occasions yeah, but generally...

I didn't notice the Queen wasn't dressed up in that photo. Huh? I would also think there would be more formal dress for an occasion like that. William might surprise you. The Queen has always seemed formal to me, but she has relaxed in the later years. I always enjoyed photos of her in a head scarf with her doggies running around her feet. Made seem closer to us normal folks.
