Two Drabbles I wrote for the prompt Novice
open_on_sunday's prompt this week was novice.
My first thought was about Willow during Season Six.
Title: The Pride of a Novice
Summary: Willow's thoughts after her talk with Giles

Willow sat at the breakfast bar trying to calm herself down.
“Lucky! I wasn’t lucky. Giles just doesn’t understand that I am talented.”
The more Willow thought about it, the more pleased she was with what she had done.
“I’m no novice! I did resouled Angelus from my hospital bed when I was a teen!”
“Giles is just jealous. He played with magic when he was younger and wasn’t able to control it.”
The more Willow thought about it, the more justified she felt.
Yes, she tapped into darker magic to bring Buffy back, but it worked.
She did it!

Tara paused in the doorway at the sight of her lover.
Willow’s aura was always so bright.
Full of yellows, bright greens, and with flashes of gold sparkles.
Now it was shot with muddied red of anger, dark murky pink of immaturity
and dark brownish yellow which implies someone who is trying too hard.
Willow had begun using more and more magic after Buffy’s death.
With Buffy dead and Giles in England, Willow had become the leader of the Scoobies.
Sadly, Tara thought about her mother’s warnings about magic done
by a novice could bless the world or end it.
