Work has been draining my entire being these last few weeks. Dec/Jan are by far the busiest months in our field, which has yielded many 7pm, 8pm, and a few 9pm nights at the office. I'm hard charging, but hitting the point of.... gosh darned tired. The last few days I've started to get headaches from staring at datasets for so long. Decided that some sort of weekend adventure is in my near future.
Also, by living on a shoestring budget, have saved up enough money for the deposit on a theatre for V-Day 2010. A couple weeks ago, Liz and I sat behind a pair of whiskey and sodas projecting, plotting and planning. It's sort of funny how you can instinctively feel that something so completely and thoroughly exhausting in the near future will be what brings you up into a beautiful and tired exhilaration.
These days are chilly and filled with bleak colors, but I feel at home. I love walking by Lake Calhoun and seeing the muted hues. Getting up early in the mornings to read and make strong coffee, toast and marmalade. Even revelling in winter more than I've felt myself do in the past, I can't help but feel little whisperings of spring and summer.
