Right, you have a point about Owen. Idk, I don't even know what to say about anything post-second series, because the show just changed so much. The first two series are where it's at for me. You're spot on with the H!P/AKB thing, and it's...ugh. I was a lot more optimistic about Miracle Day a few weeks back, but at this point it's kind of Mehracle Day. It's sort of dragging on and not a lot is happening.
It's funny, given this conversation, because one of the people who worked on it also worked on Buffy, Firefly and Dollhouse, but...speaking of the 2/3 of those I've seen, anyway, those > Miracle Day. Lol at the connection though.
Anyway, the Willow/Tara is one of the only things I know about Buffy, thanks to Tumblr, and I already don't have much motivation to watch Buffy, so knowing this cute couple gets broken up by a character death doesn't really encourage me.
(Also I have seen Dr. Horrible too, ftr. Just feeling the need to state that since I didn't before but you did. XD I still feel bad that it was basically the first place I saw any of the actors in it, ooooooops.)
Blah, for real? D: I have to admit, I was kind of side-eyeing their decision to go on after killing Ianto, and...yeah. LE SIGH. Especially considering half the fanbase hated Gwen at the time! XD
Oh lawd, haha. ~she's following us~
ngl, I didn't love Willow/Tara (but then, I loved Willow/Oz so hard and I'm terrible at multishipping) but yeah. No one can ever just break up on a Whedon show, they have to die/get sucked into an alternate dimension/be horribly mutilated/i don't even know, I'm just making it up now. XD
(Oh good! Haha I was going to talk about the ending of Dr. Horrible but I didn't want to spoil you if you hadn't seen it. Because I think the ending sort of exemplifies my problem with Joss and character death. Like, did you really have to get your death on in a comedic and generally light-hearted series? Oy.)
I didn't think it really fit into the conversation with all the more serious shows, but personally I didn't mind the death because it was this short, light-heared thing? It's like...because it was comedic, I wasn't so ~invested~ in everything, so...whatever. I don't know. But then I did get emotional over the last song and the very end of it, so there goes what I was just saying...and so I wouldn't change it, personally, because I think that whole ending really worked. But I see your point. And anyway, since that was the first Joss Whedon thing I saw, I wasn't going into it already worn down by all his character death or anything.
Oh, that's true. But then...thinking back, the second half of Dr. Horrible is pretty serious. D: I haven't watched it in ages, idk. Hmmm yeah, I think if it weren't for the actors/jokes, I probably would've forgotten I was watching a Whedon show until the end. XD
