Figure shoot - Monsieur Bome's Yamamoto Isoroku

Jun 07, 2007 21:38

Instead of getting much needed sleep yesterday, addled by the usual buzz I get from 30+ hours of wakefulness (and exceptionally nice, breezily cool weather) I decided to shoot the most elaborate BOME figure yet, Yamamoto Isoroku. That's one more off my to-do list, lolbbqYATTAhijikata ( Read more... )

pics, photography, pvc, anime figures, otaku, yamamoto isoroku

For Ukelala and Grimm's Bleach Beats, join soul-society and you should find the relevant postings on the first page easily.

The bg for the pics is simply wrapping paper lol. For lighting I used an 11 watt table lamp which is far from ideal, but hey, make do with what you have and all that. Considering the three calendars I have in my room adding yet another table lamp to the existing one will probably worsen my parents' fears of my eccentricity.

Max Fac Haruhi sold out almost instantly yes, she was just in stock yesterday and I was thinking of dropping you a msg in case you were interested but figured you might have ordered the Metamo one and wouldn't be that keen on another Haruhi (although, the Max Fac one is the definitive one really). It's the 3rd production run to be exact, which I was told numbers 20,000 LMFAO XD So there's a good chance PA will restock, or you could simply try any US-based online retailer.

And yes, (un)fortunately I turned what was a casual hey-this-Yuna-fig-is-kinda-cool purchase into a hobby =д= It can get expensive and frustrating (storage issues, figures leaning and warping etc.), but at the end of the day if you're the sort who's big on visual appreciation it's worth it. There've been many times I come home feeling crap to be greeted by a row of cute plushie faces and those kawaii things actually help my mood XD

Been poking around fandoms all day, shall join presently.
I generally perfer to use PA, mostly to see that at least a little of my money makes it back into allied hands - yours - although at this point I think it's worth my time to get my own affiliate link, given how many people I've linked. And really, I just want ANY goddamn Haruhi. If I could choose, it'd be the legendary bunny suit with the guitar, but metamo and max fac are both fine. The novelty of changing colors is interesting, but again, the temperature here varies about 2 degrees, so she'd be a constant grey color I think. That's not interesting.
Actually the most frustrating bit about the hobby for me is not being able to get what I want despite having the money. It's like HELLO COMPANY YOU ARE SELLING A PRODUCT AND YOU WANT MY MONEY SO WHY IS THERE NO PRODUCT HAY HAY ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA.

I KNOW RIGHT. I'd been waiting eons for Alter's Revy, only for PA to screw me over by deciding not to stock her for whatever extremely retarded reason. I recently emailed them to find out if they'd be bringing in Lamento (some yaoi game) figures because I really want the Konoe out of the set of 4, and what do they do? Bring in 3 out of the 4 figures, the one missing being ... yep, Konoe. FU MURPHY'S LAW.

They've gotten smarter though, finally started taking preorders for figures. There's a Konami Haruhi coming out so you could check their preorder list regularly in case it pops up. I just preordered another Shunya figure from them |D And get your affiliate link if you're linking enough people already, that way you can at least redeem some affiliate credit against purchases. I've gotten 3 figures and some random otaku nick-nacks for free thanks to their affiliate programme X3
