Harry Potter review. No spoilers I promise.

After seeing the suck fest that was Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, I was not expecting much out of this one. That being said, Mike Newell is the best thing to happen to Harry Potter since JK Rowling. Goblet of Fire has darknees, intrigue and even a little comedy thrown in for good measure. Mike Newell actually teleports you to a beautiful world where anything can happen. Dragons and mermaids and Victor Krum... OH MY. The acting is, as always, top notch. Emma Watson has always been my favorite actress attached to these projects and she does not disappoint here. She portrays Hermione perfectly as a young woman torn between her friends and a new blossoming romance. Rupert Grint is amusing as always, and I am not just referring to his hair. Daniel Radcliffe shows that as he gets older he only gets better. This year we do not see nearly as much of the teachers, but we do get a new faculty member, Mad Eye Moody, who is a hoot. The scenes with the Tri-Wizard Tournament are the most beautifully crafted of any scenes I have seen in the Harry Potter franchise. They are not a perfect display of JK Rowlings written vision, but they are extremely close. My only complaint, and yes I know the movie couldn't be 5 hours long, is the stuff that was cut from the book. There is like a 1/3 of the book missing. Entire story lines are cut out, but what can you do. The new Harry Potter is well worth the price of admission. Especially for those of you who haven't read the book. It is a magical ride that should be fun for the whole family.
