Ricardo left yesterday morning for Italy with his mom. I'm already lonely. I foresee many a brunch/lunch/dinner date with various friends over the next three weeks. And I got a lot done yesterday: cleaned the kitchen, did laundry, watered plants, vacuumed, organized my sewing tools, made an appointment with the eye doctor, called the tattoo artist, e-mailed my resume to a temp agency. So that's good.

I'm on my first week of that Weight Watchers points diet. It's hard, but I've heard good things about it, and Kent is on it too, so we'll see what happens. Exercise is hard because I'm on my feet for eight hours a day or more, and between the two jobs I hardly have the energy or time. I need to get a desk job. Then I'll get in shape. Until then: diet. I figure I need to lose about twenty pounds.

I finished reading The Shakespeare Wars: Clashing Scholars, Public Fiascoes, Palace Coups by Ron Rosenbaum, and Lover of Unreason: Assia Wevill, Sylvia Plath's Rival and Ted Hughes's Doomed Love by Yehuda Koren and Eilat Negev, thus finishing off the New York Times Reading Group. Le sigh. My reading amount may slow down now.

The Jesus and Mary Chain are playing the Fillmore October 28. The gods of rock are smiling down upon me.
