Coming up is the Earthday Parade known as Procession of the Species. Starting at 5:30 pm on saturday, the 29th of April. Anyone can be in the parade, and hundred of people make costumes, floats, practice marching dance and music routines and whatever else to celebrate. The Parade is devided up into 4 sections: Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and marches through downtown olympia. Laster year I marched as my legacies character Kuar, a black lion outfit comprised mostly of leather armor, and pounded on my djembe, marching at the tail end of Fire. THIS time...of course....what better for an earth day parade than a creature made of earth? My Golem, called Slagithor, but known more affectionately by his friends as Mr. Boots, will be marching this year. If the sun is out, I'll probably die, as the whole costume is basically a 3 inch layer of soft foam. But since I played him at legacies, I am used to wearing it in hot environments. I finaly found a picture of Kuar last year in the parade, but it was unfortunate that it was taken at a point when I had my glasses on so that I could actually SEE. 'Cause they fit over the mask, so its noce to be able to see, but looks a bit silly.

I wore Mr. Boots at Norwescon of course, Where he was insanely popular and won a prize in the costume contest. I hope to find lost of pictures of Mr. Boots after this affair. Maybe even in the news, who knows. For anyone who has not seen the golem yet:
