SO the Karate is very fun. It is a way for me to get a good workout twice a week, as well as develop some better self defense skills. Some classes are easy, others knock me out for several days after by killing my leg and back muscles. I go to work and cry every time someone wants the Honey Oat bread (At the bottom of the pantry). But still...I am unsatisfied with this Karate School. They seem more concerned about the money than about the martial arts. Someone described it as a Blackbelt Factory. And basically, anyone who pays them the proper huge amount of money and is even slightly motivated to try, can get a blackbelt in 3 years. I am way too much of a romantic about this. I Don't want to be tought based only on what I can afford...I want to be considered for my potential, my dedication, and what I can achieve. If this place were a resturaunt, it'd be Dennies.
So I keep imagining making up my own homegrown martial art. Keeping working at this one, learning Aikido, Judo, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, getting several blackbelts and working on my own style that I could one day teach. Its probably just fantasy but its a fun one.
Speaking of fantasy, Legacies this weekend! The costume is pretty much complete, only a few details remain. THe few who have seen the pictures of it approve, and I think he'll make a good impression there. After game I promise I'll put pictures up so everyone can see the awesomeness. I only wish I could claim the costume fully as my own creation. But I had a very good seamstress make the main part of it, so I can't.
I am reading A Feast For Crows. I am so happy. I have waited so long. A Dance of Dragons had better come out SOON.
