You're in the other room, love, but let me put this in writing so you can hear it as many times as you need to.

(and I'll tell you as many times as you need me to)

You ARE a writer. And you're a good one, at that. In the past year, you finished a novel that is well-written, moving, and exciting. And you've started a new one that will be, too. Maybe even moreso. Not everyone can say that. Not even many beginning (or even mature, professional, practiced) writers can say that.

I know that when you do other things, things that take more time, you don't feel like the thing you really love is the 'main' thing, the career. But for a writer, sometimes it is. All that time spent doing other things, perhaps, makes you able to write.

Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe it would be better if you could spend all your time writing, and I wish you could right now, this moment. But I do know that you can publish your work and that people will read it. And that if you want to (maybe not even that far into the future), you will be able to spend all of your time writing. And I'll support you in any way you need to get there.
