It's funny how one little thing and make a difference in someone else's day. This afternoon I got an e-mail from the secretary of the Sociolgy Office at Clark. It was just a general e-mail reminding students that there is a party this Friday for Sociology students and profs to send off the Seniors and recognize the new members of Alpha Kappa Delta (an International Sociological Honors Society... which I am now a member of!). She was asking for RSVPs so she could have a rough estimate of how many people were coming.
I sent her a short little reply back that said something along the lines of "Sorry, I won't be able to attend. I'm in England for the year, and those trans-atlantic plane tickets are pricey! Thanks!". Just a few minutes ago she replied thanking me for the rsvp and for making her laugh because it had been a really long day.
I've never met this woman, but it's nice to know I made her day a little better. =)
