I set a tea towel on fire last night. Using it to hold the (metal!) handle to the pan of pasta n sauce I was heating up. Was worried that it was catching at the bottom of the pan - there was a smell of burning. Oops.

made much more pleasant by the fruits of my latest 'discovery'- a lovely and ridiculously cheap second hand book shop in Balham. Cue a new Ursula le Guin and a random but interesting book about being a Chinese woman in America, which made the journey much more bearable
