I am so sick right now. Already have missed a week of work and I'm missing another day tomorrow. Tonsils are swollen, I don't have a fever, and it's not strep.

I just feel terrible and tired and would like to be elevated to a higher plane so I don't have to eat anymore okay thank you.

Now this is the annoying part. I ask for a doctors note, they say they can't give me one. So I go back to the ENT and ask for a doctors note from the receptionist. Now I UNDERSTAND that a receptionist is not a doctor, but I wasn't looking for money, and I wasn't looking for a prescription. I just need a note from the doctor telling him that I'm sick. I told her "I work at Starbucks" which came out as Tarbugs because my throat wasn't working. and she goes to give me a form for school to excuse me from class today and she asks "Well did the doctor say you shouldn't go back to work?" I told her I was waiting back to hear if I had mono, this didn't seem to phase her.
If I might have strep throat, or if I might have Mononucleosis, if my tonsils are the size of golfballs and I sound like I'm choking on a watermelon when I talk, I have the worst breath you can imagine, Does anyone really think that I'm well enough to go back to work? I understand they can't see that I'm tired, but you can hear that I'm sick, you can smell that I'm sick, you can sense that there is something about me where I shouldn't be handling hundreds of people's food. If a sick person walks in with a plate of free pastries would you take one? No one wants that. But not only was it this woman who gave me a hard time about doctors notes (I got one for work and one for school for today and tomorrow, and then hopefully my bloodwork will be ready and I'll know about Wednesday) it was the first walk in physician who gave me a note that read like a mother's note (Please excuse Kelsey from work/school today because she had a doctors appointment with me) that would be sending me back into the work place the very next day. I'm fortunate enough to live at home at the moment and I don't need every hour to pay rent and buy my own food, so I do have the luxury of calling out and my boss was understanding of it (not on Wednesday but that's another story entirely) but if I was in a strict place and needed a note, I'd either A.) get written up or B.) shuffle myself off to work and make who knows how many people sick.

Like you said, dealing with the public, I could have gotten it from anyone working at a restaurant or a cashier because they couldn't get excused from work and had to work sick!

ANYWAY. The doctor did give me some prednisone to help relieve the swelling and I couldn't believe what a difference it caused in me today. I didn't even take a nap today. I actually feel pretty decent.
I wrote you a letter so that is all I will say on the manner for now.
