I seriously need cheaper tastes. Wandered through Belk (a department store that prides itself on being "southern"). The first pair of boots I all but drooled over were $300. Yikes. The second pair that really caught my eye? SIX HUNDRED. 0.o
So upstairs we go. Walking past the outerwear department, a crushed maroon velvet jacket with black lace trim is simply stunning. That sucker was $350+.
I know I'm a total cheap skate, but when the clearance rack, at 75% off, still has tops that are $20 or more, I think that is still too expensive!
Of course, now that I'm just doing the SAHM thing, what's the point of dressing in anything other than jeans, T's, and tennies?
We don't go clubbing, so that reason is out. I don't work anywhere, so there goes that reason. If I'm not at home, I'm at the barn. My clothing needs to consist of water and weather proof items, none of which are fashionable in any way, shape, or form. I'm looking at mil surplus, Lands End, and hiking/backpacking type clothing stores for items that are what, ultimately, actually fill my need and fulfill the weather/wear requirements.
To top it all off, my body is doing some crazy things. One month, things will fit. The next, not so much. I'm gaining and loosing weight randomly. I don't want to buy something on clearance, only to have it not fit next year! This having kids thing sure does a number on the body. :-(
*sigh* I'm in a fashion rut, but my reality doesn't allow much else.
