Vacation for vacation's sake
Yes, I have finally managed to take a vacation, which included a trip out of my "home" area AND included rest, and DID NOT include an SCA event (although I was SOOO happy to see some of my SCA family and share conversation, a meal, and hugs).
We also managed to not overschedule our days, and even fit in a birthday party for a 7-year old that we did not expect. Liam was happy; he chatted with everyone everywhere we went; got to play games with another 5-year-old, and wrestle with Ferf. Also swimming and playing in the hotel's private park/playground. Good food, actual sleep, and great company.
I think next year, we will try to go and sightsee somewhere. With only 1/2 days of scheduled "stuff" and plenty of downtime for reading or resting or whatever.
Any suggestions? I am leaning toward San Francisco ATM, but I would be just a little biased on that one...
