the move

OK, so Liam and I have been in Berkeley since July 15. It has been nice, but I missed korwyn.
Liam loves his day camp, and has been assigned to Malcolm X for kindergarten on 9/2. Yay!

It is an adjustment living without Tyr in the same house. I go see him and walk him at least once a day.

But there is where my stress-free story ends. The apartment we moved here to stay in (planning 6-8 months, or even best case through Liam's school year) is not really available for that long a term (no subletting in the lease, and the owner/landlord is problematic).

So, I have been looking for 2 bedroom places to rent for myself, Liam, Korwyn, and Fang the Cat. There have been quite a few in our general price range over the last 10 days or so, and we have seen 6 which are all in the generally right physical location (proximate to Liam's school) - and 2 which were too far away (only a little) but also lacked "neighborhood" - being in a semi-light-industrial area, and actually in Oakland.

We put in applications for an apartment I really liked before korwyn's arrival, and they accepted us; but then we had a chance to rent a house with a shop etc. ... so we applied for the house and were told we were accepted Thursday morning!

So, Thursday afternoon, down to the bank to get a cashier's check for the 1st, last, deposit; spent alot of mental time planning the space useage in the house...received the electronic lease, and it had some problems and errors. So we sent back an email asking the errors be corrected. eBOOM at 5AM Friday - "I have offered the house to someone else" - now I have to explain to my 5 year old that the house we talked about moving into TODAY is not happening; I have to call my mover guy and yank him around AGAIN...

Seriously - from relaxed and no stress at all to excruciating abdominal cramps in 10 minutes. How does that happen? What happened to - whatever is supposed to work out will? SEROIUSLY!!!
