It's like fall just walked in one day and kicked summer's ass, just knocked him out of his throne and sat down in it. Days are getting noticeably shorter, temperatures are getting cooler, and rain is highly probable on a day to day basis.
It's a dramatic fall, too, one more of ghosts and spooks than one of apple cider and attractive East Coast foliage. This evening, for instance, there was wind blowing dead leaves around in a swirling pattern. The clouds were ink black and thick as smoke, a patchwork of dusk and a young moon peeking through in the gaps.
It's been this way for several weeks now, and shows no sign of letting up. I love it.
