Yesterday was Paul's birthday drinks. It was great to see him again, and it was a reunion as well with one of my good friends from school, Amanda. She's all couply, and also doing her Masters in Australian Studies at UQ in the building across from me (and I didn't even know). We are both going to be academics forever (hmmm.. maybe not me).
Anyway, a fair few glasses of wine and a positive experience on Brisbane public transport later I ended up at home watching a little bit of Cats. It seemed a little camp to say the least. I will have to sit down and watch the whole thing later.
Anyway, back to the real point, which is this morning. This morning was one of the bestest Saturday mornings ever. My run was pretty ordinary (and my latissimus dorsi are really sore for some really), but a lot of fun. Then myself and one of the runners walked over to the New Farm markets. I bought some rhubarb (strawberry and rhubarb crumble story to come once I've made it) and handmade soap. Then I had a nice chat to one of my physio workmates from QEII who runs a chocolate stall there. I bought some truffles, but she gave me and my friend free cups of hot chocolate. OH MY GOD!!! This is probably the most important taste sensation you will have this year if you like chocolate. So go there and have a hot chocolate.
We followed that up with meeting up with the running group at the cafe and a bacon and egg breakfast. Could life be any more perfect. I love sunny Saturdays with running, markets and cooked breakfasts.
In case you were skimming through my post, go back to the part about the hot chocolate and read it again. It's so good.
Anyway, today is hey-big-spender day, which will involve running shoes and possibly a kayak.
We'll see what the day brings. Thank the goddess for my good tax return that came through.
