I feel a slight transformation taking place.
Both Wednesday and Thursday nights were characterised by 8+ hrs sleep. I think this is a good thing. I feel a lot more "with it" now. I've sent off my tax (and am expecting a modest return). I started back at Q-Health one day / wk yesterday. I've continued my running regime.
Speaking of running regimes.. someone should have corrected my brain when it for some inance reason thought that the sun set at six at the winter solstice rather than the equinox (even though I knew the actual setting times). Due to this forgetfulness, I ended up assuming that I could run until approximately 6.30 in daytime. And so I went for an after-work run through Toohey Forest.
Outcome: I ended up running in the middle of Toohey Forest as the sun set. OK, so as many of you probably know this is not really too bad. Despite the fact that there was not much moon, no artificial lighting and some uneven tracks, the whole of Toohey Forest is surround by roads with which I could navigate back to my car. But running through the bush in the dark, all alone, was very exhilirating. And due to getting lost, I ended up running an extra kilometre than expected, which was encouraging.
Today I decided to do my first morning of 'work from home' as a PhD student. It was actually suprisingly productive. Luckily though, I do have stuff to a research group (in Caboolture of all places) to attend this afternoon which has helped to frame my day.
All in all, a moderately successful first week back. And my new commitment is to a transformation to a G-rated Kieran. You can call me Kiery-G. No more occasional course language, sexual references, sex scenes, violence or adult themes for me. Only hearty goodness. We'll see how long it lasts.
