Over the past 2 weeks I've had so many times that I've said to myself, "I really need to write this in my LJ," but haven't.

As a result of not writing it down, most of my memories have been lost to some netherworld of forgotten things. What I present now is a very brief summary of events.

I spent not last weekend, but the weekend before, at my parents property in the country looking after the dogs while they have a winemakers trip. It was a long weekend, so it was a fairly long time for me being alone (apart from the dogs and the horse). It was great fun though. Got to go to markets, fix up some equipment, prune trees, etc. On top of that, it was great to have dogs in my life again. When I came back to the city, the first couple of mornings after that I woke up I went to give the dogs a hug and get them breakfast.. until realising I wasn't there anymore. There's a massive sense of companionship that I miss, whether it's putting them to bed, feeding them, or running around chasing things in the paddock/garden. As I said though, it was a great weekend. There were deer and wallabies frollicking through the valley every morning. I made myself a good roast chook and pumpkin soup for dinner too. And amazingly, my car didn't break down on the way back (the last 2 times it has). The only downer was my failed experiment where I asked a few people if they come up and visit me and told them how important it was (and they had agreed to come up) then they didn't show. Shows how much I mean to some people.

Then back to hard slog for a week.

At the end of the week though, Jimmy and I (and we met intimatstranger and redteacher there too) went to Pride Day (march and fair). As usual it was a fantastic day. It's a great atmosphere there, especially for the march. Really positive. It's one event I don't like to miss. On top of that, there was a great entertainer at one point this year, and Jimmy and I embarassingly got up and line danced to him (we didn't do too bad though). I had to leave a little early due to picking up exams from uni.

Then it was home for a massive check-in post-dinner. It went for about 3 hours (annoyingly wiping out my evening plans), but the amount of stuff that came out was impressive. It was very much needed due to some powerful tension that had been growing in the house.

Now I'm just into major marking and working mode. I have far to many hours of work to do, and not enough hours to do it in. I shall prevail though.. although I doubt there will be another LJ post until the end of next week.
