When my mom went to a parent of a child bullying my niece, my mom was told "Oh no, not my daughter. She would never do that!" But she was! And still is!

Some parents think their kids can do no wrong, and that simply is not the case. Just because they think their child is a little angel at home does not mean they aren't a bully at school.

Oh I have had to deal with that too. Some people just can't see things about their own children I guess.

Been there too! My son was being beaten every day,he didn't tell me, (he was about 7) Other mothers told me. I went straight to the boys mother, and she denied he did it. But three witnesses stood by and said he did. Ah well, but it certainly stopped then.

That's horrible. I seriously don't understand parents like that.

Agree all the way, we will have the generation we deserve. No rules, ...how did we come to this? Kids need boundaries. Watch any animal, even they cuff their offspring for bad behaviour, we all have to learn to be kind, to be respectful, to care and to live within some guidelines. I don't mean rigid rules, just the basics, no stealing, no fighting each other, and trying to make life more comfortable for those around you. It must be tough in teaching now. Don't think the powers that be have it right somehow.
Another thought provoking piece. Thanks.

Thanks for your comments.

I agree kids need boundaries. I believe parents are currently doing their children a huge disservice.

As a teacher, I know. And it is so ridiculous I can hardly believe it happens. Even in college! I mean.....for fuck's sake!

*rabblerabble*

I don't have a solution, but I wish I did. I think the only way to change is to (re)educate parents, which isn't realistic to expect.
