Do dogs have belly buttons? And other strange things 3 year olds want to know.

I'm happy to say that yes, dogs do have belly buttons. However, since they don't get theirs knotted like humans do it's more a tiny circular scar than a bump.

The things you learn...

Google is fantastic for those tricky little questions. Like: Do ducks have tongues? Google says Yes! How is orange juice made? There's a Video! And what exactly does a Camel Spider look like? OMFG...

DON'T GOOGLE THEM!!!

You just ignored me didn't you. Ha ha! It is so not my fault if you get nightmares.

And now for something completely different...

My toothpaste expired in 2009. Other than it going green halfway through the tube there seems to be no change whatsoever. That's kind of disgusting actually. What is in this stuff?

According to Google... A crap load of sodium. Well, ew.

(I seem to be stuck in the gross factoid mode. Lets try this again.)

I have finally succumbed to my inner granny and knit a shawl. It's the Afternoon Tea Shawl from Knitty. So pretty. It was a freaking comedy of errors though.

Day 1: Start knitting with the wrong sized needles.
Day 4: Little person steals it and unravels 1/3 whilst running around the house cackling. Cute but annoying.
Day 16: Realize that somehow you have knit the last 30 rows with a different pair of needles two sizes to big.
Day 18: Get hopelessly lost in the pattern after frogging 30 or so rows.
Day 20: Decide screw it. I have the right stitch count I'm starting the lace part.
Day 25: Notice that you are missing a ball of yarn. Closest shop is 2 1/2 hours away. Contemplate loading the 3 year old into a vehicle and booking it cross-country. Look at said 3 year old happily eating her lunch... Decide to cut lace section short.
Day 27: Run out of yarn 19 stitches from the end. After digging for "hours" finally find about 3 metres that were cut off due to knots.
Day 28: FINISHED. I DON'T CARE WHAT TIME IT IS I AM BLOCKING THIS SUCKER RIGHT NOW. RARGH!@#$%?&*

It looks okay, if a bit short. Who cares. It can be a really fancy scarf.

And as a stress relief after the "nasty" shawl. I tore a sweater apart. Lovely cotton/acrylic mix. I now have over 500 metres of wool and 1/2 of the sweater left. How much wool is in this thing?

Look how soft that is. It's fantastically pettable. I'm thinking some kind of soft drapey shawl thing. Maybe a scarf?

Who knows. At this point I'm stuck in sock hell attempting to get a pair done for my poor Mum.
Sorry Mum! Your Pretty Toes Socks are coming!*

*Maybe sometime next year but they're still coming!
