I've been trying to get back into running lately. It's been tough. I love to listen to my ipod when I run, but it messes my pace up all kinds of crazy. Even when I don't think I'm paying attention, my brain puts my body into tempo. Stupid marching band training!

I joined a few running forums to try to help me be motivated, and it's helping a bit. A bunch of people told me to choose songs by the beats per minute and go from there. I looked into beats per minute analyzers for itunes, and most of them are manual. Ugh. 3500 songs - tap out the rhythm for each? No thank you. I found one automatic one, but there were lots of complaints that it wouldn't find peoples' itunes folders. I tried it anyway, and I'm now about halfway through ALL my songs in just a little bit of time, with practically no effort! YAY! Maybe now I can run and stay in pace, and maybe get over my stupid mental hurdles and push my pace up a bit.
