Calgary...the Ups and Downs

Calgary is awesome, overall. And when I'm there on my own time, doing whatever I like, I love it. However, like any place, it becomes a little tiring when you are on someone else's schedule.
When I was a kid all I did in Calgary was visit family. I love my family dearly, but all that visiting left me and my brother stuck on the couch counting the colors in the carpet. Wheeeeeeee. We did, if time was right, go to the Stampede, which was very cool. So that was the payoff for our impeccable patience throughout the trip.
So I have to say I haven't thought too highly of Calgary for the past...13 (?) or so years...
But then...
ALICE COOPER

Alice Cooper is in Calgary..and my boyfriend and I skip off to see him. Now I love the place...beautiful Calgary and it's convenient one-way streets (strange that downtown there's no restaurants...or any REAL ones). It's really something, I think.
Must be the freedom of going wherever the wind takes you...just picking up and leaving...sometimes easier said than done, sure, but it still feels great when it does happen.
I can't not comment on the rockies. They are too much to pass by. We passed them in the fall, and I'd never seen them like that before. Turns out they can't be ugly at any time. I tried to find a picture that looked the closest to what I saw, and here you go:

They are absolutely breathtaking, and I want to snowboard down one of them ;) ... But I also don't want to die ... So I'm going to debate that, I think.
