the sunrise just isn't as grand at milepost 287 on I5

so my salem trip wasn't the best in the world this time.

we left here at 5AM on saturday morning. stopped at denny's for some foods... the food probably was the cause of me ending up being sick. the part where i was sick probably wasn't helped by me playing my DS the entire way there... regardless, i was sick all day saturday.

so i didn't actually GO to the wedding, i stayed at david's brother's place and slept on a couch for some hours while they enjoyed the festivities. fun times.
they came back at around 7ish and we went to red robin to eat some food again, then we went to wunderland.

(wunderland is a nickel arcade, by the way. and the guys there that were playing DDR made me NEVER want to play again. made me sad inside.)

so we finished there and decided to sleep for a few hours and then we'd head off to home.

at about 3AM we left salem to end our adventures.
we'd been driving for probably at the most 1/2 hour, when right outside of wilsonville, when we had the cruise control set to about 70... i looked down and the speed had dropped suddenly, and the RPM'S dropped completely to 0.
the engine had shut off and so i pulled the car over to the side of the road.
we called the people that we needed to call... and (with freaking out, mind you) we waited for the tow truck to come and take us back to wilsonville.

we waited for about 1 1/2 hours for the guy to come, and like the subject line says... there's nothing like the sunrise at milepost 287 on I5...
when the guy came and got us he told us that there was a honda dealership in wilsonville, which would probably be a better idea than just a generic mechanic.
so we had him take us there, where once again, we waited for lots of hours.
now since this was a sunday, the honda place wasn't open. we had to figure out what to do from there. we had david's brother come and hang out with us (as much as one could hang out with us...) and we drove around a bit. by the time that we got back to the dealership we found out that it was in fact open and we talked to the lady inside.
she told us that the service center wasn't open on sunday, and we could leave the keys in the overnight drop box with our information, and they would do what they could with my car.

so we waited some more and eventually nate's dad showed up and we were finally on our way.

oh, and by the way... it wasn't just MY car... that place really IS cursed or something

we were leaving wilsonville and i looked to my right at this dirty teal ford F150 truck. nothing to awesome.
but i look at the driver as well...

it was seth... as in JT and tonya's cousin...
he had his truck break too.
he ended up buying a new alternator and battery for it.

wierd... O.o

we stopped in adams... the smallest town EVER... and watched nate's concert.
after that, we could get on our merry way home.

today we talked to the guy at the honda place and he said that he found out that it was the timing belt that broke, but it didn't do enough damage to total my car. so that's good.
my car is fixable, and i'll have it back in a few days.

happy times...

<3 KT
