I'm getting somewhere!

I know pride is one of the seven deadly sins, and in fact the deadliest, but I just can't help but being excited for myself right now!

After a moderate and to me disappointing showing at the Penfield Challenge (my 5k that I ran 2 weeks ago) making roughly 10 walking stops and finishing in 33:53, I just ran that plus an additional half mile in just another minute and a half! I did not have to stop for ONE walk break, at all! So apparently something in the air or just being over-adrenalized just did not agree with me on race day, because today I felt like I could have kept on running forever. Thank God, my breathing is finally getting under control, and I am finally making some progress on the road. I haven't run that far without a walk break since I was on the treadmill, and the difference between that and taking it outside is night and day. In a rare ego moment, YAY FOR ME!!!

Tomorrow I'm going to start getting serious with my back to school research and plans. Like, as in, ordering practice GRE's, and finding out when and where I would take that, and picking my top 5 schools. Then once I take the test and get a score back I start making phone calls to see what I would have to do to get fellowships. I am GOING to get my life in order! Hear me roar!
