Wrote This on my iPod - Found it now

There's a tree on campus whose seed pods smell like wet cardboard and spicy books. I don't go out of my way to smell it, but every time I walk under that tree, I can't help but breathe it in.
I was accidentally holiday-appropriate with my movie choice this past weekend. After baking soda bread on Saturday and eating it with braised cabbage and spicy garlic shrimp with edamame (what? We're fusion here - can't help it), I saw that Sis had a movie labeled "kti" and that's it. So I started watching it to find out. Turns out that it's "Kill the Irishman", a movie about Danny O'Green, a leader of the Irish mob in Chicago around the 60s/70s. It was actually pretty good. I wouldn't watch it again and again, but it was a decent movie with good actors (though the characters were all of the dominant hegemony - don't expect prominent female characters. Though his first wife did leave with the kids when she found out about his mob shenanigans which was quite a bold move).
Also, two nights ago I sliced my finger open while making dinner. I left a trail of blood to the bathroom. It was just like in a movie. I stared at my finger and for a second nothing happened. Then bright bright red blood gushed up out of my index finger, flowing onto my other fingers and filling my hand. After a half a dozen gauze bandages and ample pressure, it got to the point where I could bandage it and even then I needed to change the bandage that very night. I went to the doctor the next day. He said I didn't need stitches. Yay! But man, was it bleeding a lot the night before. Doctor said I might have slightly nicked an artery, but it had healed itself by being squeezed together. So that's good. But it's still sore and so is the finger next to it which suffered some collateral damage (I got myself UNDER the fingernail - OW).
It's very difficult to motivate yourself to exercise when getting off the couch and into clothes seems like an exercise on futility. I hate that I feel facing people is just too much sometimes or that none of it means anything anyway. Wish this would get better, still hasn't.
Midterm tomorrow and flight out Monday night. This should be a good spring break. Just need to finish up all my work for this semester and I'll be happy. I don't know if this whole higher education thing was the best idea. But I'm committed so it's going to be done.
