So I haven't written a "real" entry since at least October...and jeez man, so much has happened!
I turned 21 in November and that was pretty fabulous. Brittany baked me a cake and friends were over. I'm never spending that much on alcohol ever again though. Man on man.
I'm assistant directing the Vagina Monologues next semester!! We have an amazing cast this year and David, the director (yes, a MAN is directing them! It's great!) has great ideas! I'm so excited.
I'm also TA-ing for Intro to Sociology, which is going to be fantastic. I love the people i'm TA-ing with and I really can't wait to get paid AND get credit for teaching people and re-learning the basics of sociology. Oh, and grading a shit ton of papers and tests. Woohoo!
I did fairly well this past semester too. A 3.3 isn't amazing, but it'll get me into some kind of graduate school. I went and visited my first grad school too in Washington state: University of Puget Sound. 2600 students, 100% job placement...but it's in Tacoma. Yea, no thanks. It made me realize how much I want a BIG school like Penn State or UVM or UMass-Amherst.
Oh yea, I also just got back from Washington state. Went to go visit Brian Stewart, which was really awesome. Went to the science fiction museum in Seattle, which, well, was my favorite part of the trip. Hahah, i'm such a big nerd, but seriously...Robots, Star Trek, weapons, THE TREE OF LIFE. It was amazing. And so was seeing Mt. Ranier. And being on the west coast for the first time ever. I didn't get to see the Pacific Ocean...but i will eventually.
I came to the conclusion that I want to visit at least one new city or country a year. One is the MINIMUM. So far i've seen Washington State and over spring break I get to see Burlington, VT. I want to visit Portland, OR, Chicago, and San Francisco. And the countries? Well, there are just too many to name. I'll hopefully get to all of them.
I learned a lot about my family this break too.
Like my grandpa on my dad's side was in the KGB and that my dad was part of the refusenik movement in Russia....but something is off...because that would mean my dad would have gone against my grandpa. I'm personally confused, but both of them I know are somewhat true, which is pretty cool.
Other than that...I don't have much else to say. Maybe I should update this thing more often so my entries aren't so long...meh, whatevs.
