What's A Story Without Conflict?

Dear Journal,

This is your first entry, though it is hardly mine. I have quite the collection of your kind now, and one day I will set you on the shelf beside your brothers and sisters. Until then, let's try and enjoy our time together. I promise to be honest if you promise not to tell my secrets. Well, that's silly, isn't it? Journals can't tell secrets.

They have no mouths.

Your predecessor, who I fondly named Princess Paige, bears my last entry concerning the closing of the Mirror Man case. It might not seem fair to you, little journal, but I don't wish to write it again just for your sake. Suffice to say my partner (Amavia Hawkins is her name) and I captured two suspects criminals and killed a third.

They were serial killers of the worst sort, but we've put them away now. Our master George is proud of us, though it might be hard for others to tell. He's burying his brother Jeffrey tomorrow  There's a lot on his mind, but we've gone above and beyond what apprentice investigators are expected to do. So I'm pretty sure he's proud of us.

I wish I could be proud of myself, little journal.

Last night I did... I don't even know. I don't know what I was thinking except that I was being a complete idiot. I've jeopardized my entire career, my partner's career, our chances to even remain partners everything. I'd say I'm a terrible person but I feel all of this guilt so I should have a chance at redemption, right?

How do you even redeem sleeping with your partner?

Light, I'm screwed.
Screwed.
Hah.

Lots of work today, classes back to back to back- it's like an orgy of paperwork, I'm not even sure how else to describe it. As soon as I complete my Conjuration assignment though, I'm heading out and grabbing a coffee.

hawkiiiiiiiiiiins, puns, mirror man, ethics are hard, coffee addict, affairs are for secret, nosepinch, objection!, amavia, george, magic 101
