I Deserved That

Dear Journal,
I apologize for not writing the past few days. My hand was actually rather crippled for reasons I'll explain later. Or, well, I'll explain now but starting from the top. You understand how it is.
Well, the Officer's Ball was interesting. For a number of reasons, but mostly because Hawkins was completely unprepared and I got to play Hero. Heroes get the girl, as you know. I'd wink knowingly at you, but you wouldn't see it.
Just so you know, I just winked knowingly at you.
Hawkins was a Guest of Honor, received several commendations. Of course, she didn't think to write an acceptance speech or bring an offering to Archmage Xzanivus, the man in charge of the K.T.I. I swear people from Westfall don't know anything. So when I told her she'd need a speech, the look on her face was priceless. She ended up writing it on a napkin.
I handled the offering, of course. She must have been panicking out of her mind seeing everyone else before her offer these amazing, fanciful gifts when she had nothing. Ahahahaha- Light, I am a terrible person for letting her suffer so. But I saved the day in the end, and that's what counts! I presented Archmage Xzanivus with several Transflux devices on her behalf. That includes the Transflux Manipulator I believe Tiira Liira and Idle Hands did the dirty work in retrieving.
Small world, I guess.
Let's just say Hawkins was... grateful? In bed? Grateful.
I also got to meet Archmage Worthington, George's father, again. I almost punched him in the face right then, but Amavia Hawkins was all dolled up and excited and the evening had just started... I didn't want to ruin her first fancy ball.
Thankfully I was able to land myself in trouble later on. Master Twizzlewand is a very old and addled mage, you see. And the K.T.I. respects him for whatever reason, you see. So, you see, when you encourage a crazy old man to demand more roast beef at a banquet and do your best to make an utter fool of yourself, well, you see it's a sure-fire way to get yourself in trouble. The next day I received a visit from the Archmage himself. You see, that was a good time to punch him. So I did.
You see? You see? What the fel, I've written that like twenty times for some reason. What, what do I see?!

Anyway, you see Light-damn it son of a motherless ogre. Okay. As I was trying to tell you, the Archmage visited me the next day. I may or may not have punched him in the face. As far as I know, he can't prove I did and my confession up there was completely pain-induced and should be discarded if this journal is ever found and used in trial against me.
He reacted, let's say, poorly? I wasn't expecting a hug. Then again, I also wasn't expecting him to break every bone in my hand and arm or have his water elemental subsequently almost drown me repeatedly for a few hours. There was probably a lot more but I don't remember. I think he even fried one of the extra organs Yeah, I don't remember anything. Woke up by Amria, George's sick daughter, at the clinic and Archmage Worthington struck me in the head with his staff.
When I woke up again, they were mending my arm. Everything hurt. Still hurts.
Dr. Twitchworks (that is such a comforting name, by the way) is at the end of his rope with me. It's none of his business if I'm in and out of the clinic all the time. It's none of his LIGHT-DAMN BUSINESS if I get into fights or if I get hurt on the job. He's stuck here patching people up anyway, might as well be me some of the time. It's not like I just punch people in the streets either. I'm pretty good about only punching people that do things like ENSLAVE ME IN AN ARRANGED MARRIAGE that piss me off. And I'd like to think it takes a lot to do that.
But it was worth it, you see. Fuck everyone.
