when is the last time i updated this thing? heh. who knows. :) oh well.
life is going great. last weekend i ran a 5K with sarah in philly, which was wonderful! it was so fun running with her (And hanging out too, of course) i absolutely fell in love with philadelphia. it is such a wonderful city!! people there are more friendly and polite than i've ever seen in a city. and so laid back- nothing like new york! you can walk down the streets of central philly and not get bashed into my a billion people, and a taxi cab actually braked for a pedestrian- a new yorker would have been roadkill. heh. don't get me wrong, new york will always be my love, but i have found a sepcial place in my heart for philly too. :) the only let down was the real world house- not nearly as glamorous as on tv. heh. i guess that's the magic of television.
after enjoying that little 5K, i have decided to train to run the boilermaker in utica, ny, with chip and some other cool people. :) yeeha running.
work is well. the school year is almost over- which will bring about more changes. my position has changed so much this year- floating between 5 different teachers and classrooms of kids. now i follow around a boy, dale, who is mainstreamed into real classes. definately a change of scenery and routine. but going well so far. he made my day today. usually a high anxiety, pessimistic child- today he melted my heart. he has broken/fractured/something to his elbow, and has a hard time writing. after some struggle this morning- trying to be independent, he came over to me in social studies and asked me to help him write down the notes, and as i was writing them, he put his hand on my arm and said "thank you." not to say that this job hasn't been rewarding before today, but to actually have a student that is able to recognize and appreciate like that, wow, i don't have the words for it.
i am going HOME on memorial day weekend i and boy! am i excited! i will be home the next weekend too, which i am hoping to be the dairy fest- and jess and i have a hot date! and of course i will be seeing megan! how blessed i have been to have found such wonderful friends so early on in my life and to be able to keep them close in heart, if not distance. on that note, katie vingoe comes home from china at the end of june, and i can't wait. she is considering either cortland or philadelphia as her settling point once she returns, and i would be ecstatic with either one! :D
maryland is beautiful and green and sweet smelling! full of grass and trees and flowers and wildlife. i can't wait to move here in september, and say goodbye to delaware! :-D
off to watch gilmore girls. one of my new loves! have a fabulous night my friends! and congratulations to all of you seniors out there! welcome to real life.
