[The image on the screen fuzzes out for a moment, then sharpens to show... well, some very frightening looking claw marks gouged into the side of a building, broken glass from a recently shattered window next to it.]

How disturbing.

[If you know him, then you know the sound of that tone. And even if you don't, it's pretty clear that someone is ( Read more... )

If you find anything out, let me know, will you? It's might be the same thing that's tearing up the monsters.

Of course.

Though... it is strange.

To target the non-sentient.

It probably wasn't targeting the building itself. It's more likely it was trying to get in.

I refer to the mutilated bodies.

You think they were mutilated after death?

No.

I don't understand. What were you referring to by 'attacking the non-sentient'?

The creatures

That have been found dead....

They were not what you would call... 'intelligent'.

[He means they aren't really 'human' at all]

Ah. I didn't take intelligent and sentient to mean the same thing.

[He's not being a smartass this time. Just clarifying.]

In any case, I don't think it's all that strange for monsters to attack others. Most animals are driven by instinct, and it makes sense they'd take advantage of the fog for prey, intelligent or otherwise.

[Not when they're what he's after. Mononoke tend to be human oriented with their mutilations]

Hm.

But... They don't eat... what they catch.

[Zuko has no idea what mononoke are, sorry. :| ]

It's difficult to tell. But no, they definitely don't eat much. It's... strange.

[With any luck he never will]

Extremely so.

I do so wonder... why.

Me too.

I'll let you know if I come across anything.
