A blizzard took the city by surprise. Food ceased to be supplied to us, and the wildlife was scares, leaving us with little to no rations, as well as below freezing temperatures, broken water pipes and no heated buildings.

Many perished from starvation, hypothermia and pneumonia.

That's terrible. But I assume we know what we're up against this year?

One would assume. Save for the fact that little has been done as of late to prepare, and it is already what I can assume to be November.

So we may have a repeat of last year if everyone isn't told to prepare themselves.

That's what you're getting at right?

That is what is being implied. Yes.

Well, first off, all newcomers should be informed since they weren't here last year. As for everyone else, if a warning doesn't have them scrambling to prepare they're idiots.

Of course.

And as for everyone else, I can only assume they expect this winter to be more gentle than the previous one. Or perhaps they have been otherwise preoccupied.

Still, someone needs to give them a wake-up call. I don't want to see anyone die this year. Especially not via stupidity. That's the worse way to go.

What might you suggest outside of merely warning them?

As of yet, I have two children, and a single man who are willing to assist.

Precautions should be made to the buildings. If we had the proper tools we could try to fix any broken windows or such so the maximum amount of warmth is kept inside.

Aside from that, it's like you said. People should start collecting food and keeping it make for emergencies as well as collect things such as blankets for warmth.

I believe that one man is working to repair one building. Though it is far from enough.

One can only hope that they heed such warnings. [Though at this rate, he's starting to doubt it]

Not it's not. Everyone would have to pitch in and help fix your own buildings.

We won't know until we try.

I imagine that convincing them to do so might be rather hard.

True. [Hence making this post!]

I think the threat of death is enough to get most of them working. At least, I hope so.

[And now he'll be referring you to Denmark at the bottom of this transmission B|]

Hope might not be strong enough.
