So, why are people whining about Liukin getting a silver when she got the same score as He on the uneven bars? The rules clearly list what the tiebreaker is. I'm all for having rules be examined to make changes when needed, but the results are what they are because of the current system. If Liukin won the tiebreaker, would the US still ask to have two gold medalists and look to have rules changed?

All the stuff about the Chinese gymnasts being under the age limit needs to stop too. Yes, I think they are under the age and yes I wish the IOC would do something. But does the US really want that team gold now just under those circumstances? That one girl (Sacramone?) messed up pretty badly afterall.

I read that in synchronized swimming, Spain was banned because they added waterproof lights to their outfits. What?

I am happy to see Argentina beat Brazil. It's not like it's World Cup, but 3-0. Ouch. And Brazil got two straight red cards. You have to do something pretty harsh to get a straight red card like intentionally trying to injure someone.

I got an email from a Canadian a couple days ago that said, "Canada finally won a gold medal. We're now as good as Antarctica."

Has anyone noticed the difference in the way the medal count list appears depending on if you are reading a US media outlet as opposed to some other country? Some of the other media outlets I've seen lists the order according to how many GOLD medals are won. The US lists the order according to how many medals total. The old system used to be 5 points for gold, 3 for silver, and 11 for bronze and countries were listed according to how many total points they have. I have no idea when that system was last used.
