I find one of my co-workers to be a bit....odd. I don't really know what to make of her. She's a really nice person and we each lunch together on occasion, but something's wrong with her.
Last week, we decided to go to the only English pub in this entire city to watch a match between Manchester United and Lyon. On the way there, she asked me if I had a good weekend. I told her it was fine, but nothing special. She tells me she went to see a movie. End of story. That's it. Usually when people say that to you, they tell you what movie they saw. So I had to probe and ask her what movie it was. Her reply was, "I don't remember." I asked what it was about. She said, "I don't remember." The others with us looked dumbfounded too. The woman told us that she is losing her memory, but insists that they told her it was normal. We explain to her that it isn't normal at all, and she just shrugs it off.
When we get to the pub, she orders chips (fries) with cheese and bacon. She eats one and says, "Wow! These taste like potato!" I think Jennifer tried not to laugh. I couldn't help but laugh. Gothboy, on the other hand, looked as if he wanted to smack her. All of us explain to her that we hoped it WOULD taste like potato, since chips (fries) are in fact, made from potato. She says, "Well yeah, but the chips I ate earlier didn't taste like potato." What she ate earlier in the day were nacho cheese chips, which use tortilla chips...made from corn.
We then got on the subject about Wayne Rooney, who plays for Manchester United. While looking at the TV, she asks, "Is that Rooney right there?" The screen only showed Carlos Tevez's back, which clearly had the name TEVEZ right across the back of the jersey.
So bizarre. I swear.
