I'm back home from my London/Paris trip. Only regret is that it was too short and that I missed the start of the EPL season. I would have liked to have been in London for the start, but I was already in Paris that day.
I loved both places, but if I had to choose between the two, I'd say it was slightly more in the favor of Paris. London was cleaner and slightly easier to get around, but I liked the food, people, architecture, and museums a bit more in Paris. I liked the pub food in London, but I was tired of it after awhile. I also never had a problem with any Parisian rudeness, as they are stereotyped. I found them to be very cordial and polite.
One thing I found out Paris is that you have to ask for the check when you are sitting in a cafe. Otherwise, you could end up sitting there for a few hours. They don't mind patrons lounging about with only a couple drinks and cigarettes. In the US, we're more used to places trying to turn tables more quickly so they can seat the next group.
The things I liked most were the museums. I was only able to go to the British Museum, musee du Louvre, the musee d'Orsay, and musee Rodin. I would have seen at least 5-6 more if I had the time. I also loved the Palace of Versailles, but didn't spend as much time as I would have liked there.
Now I am home sick as I caught something during the plane flights back home.
