You squeeze my hand and I squeeze back;
It’s just something we do when we walk.
You express with words and I express back;
It’s just something we do when we talk.
You lay your head upon my lap;
You do this when we are at home.
And I play with your hair; caress your cheek,
It’s just something we do when alone.
We lay beneath a billion twinkling stars
On a night so clear and so cold,
And I say it’s you that I want so much
To grow gray with and quite so old.
I kiss you lightly upon your cold lips
And one more time dare I say
How much I love you, my lovely one,
Each and every day.
