August 2004: Carhenge, Nebraska

Aug 19, 2005 09:30

Happy Friday, and here comes the weeekend!

Another good run this AM and that felt great. I'll need to hop on the bike this weekend and get that going again.

I was thinking of a remarkable place I visited very briefly last summer. On the way from South Dakota to Colorado we drove through Nebraska. We stopped at 2 AM and my friend Matt dragged me into wakefulness to go see Carhenge. I thought novabelgica would enjoy this!

Carhenge is a full-size replica of Stonehenge, sculpted by Jim Reinders and constructed with the help of his family. Completed in 1987 it's built of American cars, spray painted with gray primer.
This way for more Carhenge info.

The view at 2 AM (all of us shining our flashlights on the sculpture)

Looks good with freelance projects--one will pop next week, and we'll see how the big project looks, we have a conference call today and meetings next week.

A nice little weekend meme from weret_hekau
One little compliment can make you feel amazing, so pay me a compliment, anything in the entire world, even if it's only that my shoelaces are pretty. Then (if you want to), put this in you own journal and add the entry to LJ memories so that when you are feeling down, you can go back to that entry and be reminded how great people think you are. :)

Have a great weekend!
