Happy Tuesday!
I was reflecting upon where I was a year ago and started to smile when I saw these photos. I must say that Mt. Rushmore for me is an exercise in American Socialist Realism. It reminds me so much of similar sorts of things I've seen most often in the former USSR. Sculpted by Gutzon Borglum and completed in 1941 it is a major tourist sttraction.
The first approach, the second has all of the state flags waving in the air (past the archway)
The National Memorial
A lighter view of same courtesy of my friend Matt!
I got back from New England yesterday afternoon and proceeded to tear out shelves in the entrance corridor, as that's the next project. I had to go buy a new drill that reverses its spinning, as well as a #2 Phillips extender bit. Sounds pretty good, huh?
So between prepping for this next project, ordering a new desk, and sprucing up the hallway (spackling and repainting are next up, I'm mulling a gentle mango shade) I'll be busy!
Have a great Tuesday!
