Happy Thursday!
One of our next assignments in the photography workshop was a night shoot. Now I don't own a tripod, so I thought this would be a bit tricky. I will have to get one!
The workshop group decided to go take a walk on Place de la Concorde starting at 10:00. But after 7 miles of walking that day, I thought I'd let the city come to me! So a few of us took the Batobus. This is a shuttle ferry that runs up and down the Seine from the Jardin des Plantes to the Eiffel Tower and back again. You can hop on and off as you will.
The view from the quay, we got on at Hotel de Ville.
We got on the Batobus as twilight just began, and the light was golden.
The Conciergerie
The National Assembly. Paris is going all out for the 2012 Olympics, and this color scheme was everywhere!
I know, hokey tourist shot, but I love this bridge!
Once again the Alexander III (thanks
sylys) bridge with the Grand Palais
Can you believe the number of people on this bridge?
Then it started getting fun, as it got dark, and the bridges lit up
Under a bridge
The Olympic colors were on so many bridges
And people were out enjoying the first breath of summer
The water looked like satin, shimmering and multicolored
And finally night fell
The colors were just lustrous and glowing!
Sorry if blurry, but at ISO 400 and the moving boat (and no tripod) I'm surprised they came out as well as they did!
We got off the boat and went out to dinner, but I am really glad to have seen the Seine that evening.
Have a good day!
