Spain: Madrid -> a downtown street

May 09, 2005 07:44

Good morning!

An old street in Madrid.

How was your weekend? It was cold and rainy here, but cleared up some. I e-mailed my mom, who is in Russia now, so a long-distance Mother's Day!

The trade show in Baltimore was very successful. I met the founders; also met (and helped pitch) investors in the product (it worked, we raised a lot of money); and a number of potential clients and partners. Two of the leads are extremely promising in terms of very high-volume sales, which are what the firm would need.

I will meet with the SVP again this week to discuss exactly how I would be involved in the firm and what role I would play. It's a startup, which is risky, but this sector is growing so fast, and the customer interest, just at this small show, was so overwhelming that I think there is a lot of opportunity.

My weekend was intense and full of thought. There are big changes up ahead!
What does your upcoming week look like?

I am:James Tiptree, Jr. (Alice B. Sheldon)
In the 1970s she was perhaps the most memorable, and one of the most popular, short story writers.  Her real life was as fantastic as her fiction.

Which science fiction writer are you?

Have a good Monday!
