The girlchild is getting big on knowing where traits come from. That she gets this from her mommy or that from her daddy or the other from grandma. So the other day she postulated that she must have gotten a certain trait from me, as it didn't exist on either side of her family.
Me: I guess that must be it.
Her: But... it couldn't have come from you because you weren't there when I was born. *seems distressed*
Me: Mmm, well, maybe you got it from me spiritually.
Her: *eyes wide* Oh... of course. Because you were always mine, it just took you a while to find me!
