I am *not* a girly girl

Ok, maybe I am, kinda sorta.

Saturday was my birthday, and we went wedding dress shopping. It was unbelievably fun. I tried on about a half-dozen dresses, and M tried two. I don't think the sales girl (sorry, "bridal consultant") quite got that we're marrying *each other*. It was mildly amusing; next time we'll have to make that clear. But it sure was nice to have someone waiting on me the whole time. What a great way to spend a birthday! Oh, we also went shopping (2 new pairs of shoes and new sunglasses!) and out for fondue. Also much happy fun. When we got back we sat out on the upstairs porch with a glass of Bailey's and just enjoyed the evening.

Sunday, inspired by khalja, I decided to see how much riding my bike to work might suck. It didn't, much; at least, not the ride there. It took 16 minutes to get there, and about 20 to get back - and the return route is mostly uphill. I was pretty proud of myself. It might have been easier if we hadn't done it all in one loop; if I actually ride to work, I'll have 8 hours between the there and the back again.

Watched the series finale of the West Wing last night. The end of a great show, in spite of the inconsistent writing of the last few seasons). It really does upset me that I found myself much more invested in a make-believe presidency than the real one. Even among the left-wingers, I can't see having the same faith in anyone that's currently out there. *sigh*
