Quiet day

ETA: Anyone hear from elfreda today? Her post from last night has me a bit worried.

Me: Didn't sleep well last night - too many sirens. Something must have happened somewhere nearby. I tell you, living near a fire station is a mixed blessing.

Home Sweet Home: It's a mess, as usual. The power went out last night, and still hadn't come back by the time I left this morning. Good thing I use a travel alarm. I'm guessing it's related to whatever catastrophe occurred last night. The cats have been plastered to the living room window, hissing and growling. M is working from home today; maybe she'll be able to see what's freaking them out.

Reading/Listening: Eye of the World by Robert Jordan on my iPod. I have to say, audiobooks make it much easier to ignore the creepy people at the bus stop...

Eagerly Anticipating: Camping this weekend! Just us and a couple of friends out in the woods, no one else around for miles.

SCA Projects: On hold for the moment while we work on some house projects. I have to make some curtains for the front rooms - anybody walking past the house can just peer in, and it's rather uncomfortable - especially with the cats all freaked out, and the sirens, and the lack of electricity.

Work: It's the end of finals week, and it's practically dead here on campus. There are still a few students wandering around, but for the most part they look awful - exams must have taken a toll on them. They're not even talking much, just kind of shuffling around in a daze. Or too many late-night parties, maybe? They smell pretty bad. Ah, college.

Thankful for: Thermal coffee cup. The sunshine. Deadbolts.

Wishing for: Maybe a little more life around downtown? I mean, quiet is nice, but it's a little disconcerting. Where are all the normal, happy people??

Writing: Not much going on there at the moment, but I found a very inspiring site. Lots to think about...
